SynthetixND™ Case Studies
Thousands of Documents, a Sketchy Memory - and Success Nevertheless
A mountain of documents and a deposition witness with a weak memory proved no match for a Dallas attorney, his laptop and Synthetix Search®. Facing half a million documents and a witness who suggested that key data was "in the file somewhere," the attorney used Synthetix Search to locate nearly all the documents referenced by the witness without leaving his office.
Synthetix Search, the attorney believes, gives him a competitive advantage in preparing his clients and makes it likelier that they will get a positive resolution, and save money and time in the bargain.
Synthetix Processing Software Puts Experts and Key Information Together From Across the Country
A government agency had 250 boxes worth of materials with a pressing deadline and experts scattered around the country waiting for information to review. Synthetix Processing Software (SPS) took just a week to process the data and create a ready-to-use Syndex and Synthetix ND files.
The data was hosted on iCONECT and made available for review by experts scattered about the country. The quick turnaround and ready access considerably reduced the client's costs in the case.
From A Pile of CDs to a Fully Functional Database - In Just Two Weeks
A Seattle firm found itself with an armful of CDs containing a massive amount of unstructured data including memos, spreadsheets and related files. What was more pressing, though, was a very tight deadline to produce a functional database. In a matter of four days the armful of CDs had processed through SPS and a Syndex auto-coded database was ready for the firm.
A week later, the firm received a separate index that had been manually prepared by human coders. This additional information was added to the Syndex database, creating a fully functional database applicable to the entire case in just two weeks.
Three Firms, Three Databases and Two Different Formats - Delivered Simultaneously
Three different law firms, 600 miles apart, looked to Synthetix Processing Software to simultaneously produce document databases in both Summation format and Concordance. SPS processed the documents to create Syndex and SynthetixND data that was placed in a shared iCONECT database which allowed issue coding by the first two firms. It also gave experts in far-flung locations access to the same database.
Not long afterward a third firm joined the case, receiving the database in Concordance format as well. The SPS output was readily usable by all three firms in their preferred format plus in the shared database, allowing a more cost- and time-efficient way to perform concurrent issue coding while retaining flexibility for each firm to use the review platform with which it was most familiar.
