Synthetix Search®
Synthetix Search augments leading discovery review platforms such as Concordance, FYI, iCONECT, CaseLogistix and IPRO. Synthetix gives users expanded search and navigation capabilities by comparing the linguistic patterns of blocks of text selected by the user with the linguistic patterns of every page of every document in a document collection. With Synthetix Search, users can select and search on a passage of interest or they can create their own hypothetical smoking gun text to find records. Synthetix Search will immediately return a results list that includes exact matches and near matches ranked according to how closely the results matched the comparison text selected by the user. The relevance ranking lets users focus their attention on the results that are most like the comparison text without having to weed through marginally relevant results. Queries are extremely easy to formulate and are far more immune to misspellings, OCR errors and other variances.
Unlike other search technologies, entire paragraphs or even a page of text can be easily used as the basis for a query. Synthetix can search millions of pages in a repository using whole sentences or entire paragraphs from existing documents.
Because Synthetix Search is so easy to use, and the results can be evaluated so quickly, Synthetix Search can add tremendous value to the time spent by lawyers, paralegals and corporate legal teams in a variety of situations including:
- Ensuring consistent privilege claims - Prevent inadvertent disclosure of your own privileged content and uncover any un-redacted copies of documents accidentally disclosed by the opposition
- Evaluating claims - Locate documents that can confirm or rebut statements found in pleadings or motions, witness statements and potential exhibits simply by using those statements as the source for the search
- Testing best or worst case scenarios - Enter free-form text to find what you hope does or does not exist
- Locating duplicates and near duplicates despite document unitization decisions - document-level comparisons won't find instances where blocks of text have been included in larger records as a result of document unitization decisions by scanner operators or as a result of someone pasting content into a larger electronic record. Synthetix augments document-level groupings by permitting page-level matching.
Users may license Synthetix Search individually or as part of the Synthetix Processing Suite (SPS), or they may purchase its use as a service from one of our authorized service bureau partners.
